I've been given my father's Z1-A he got in college. It sat in our barn when I grew up and I'm attempting to restore it. Started having questions that can't be answered by the service manual and hoped I might get the answers here.

Z1 addiction always starts with "just" one. Then there's another..., then another..., then parts & tools & more tools & a bigger shop & manuals & service bulletins &..., &..., &... one day you'll wake up & realize you're thoroughly infected with The Dreaded Z-Bug.

:-? There's no known cure.

Most who are so afflicted attempt to self-medicate by repeated applications of additional Z1's. :D
History has shown that's only partially effective, as there is almost always "Just One More...".

I, too, am a newcomer to this forum. Seems like a great place to be. May I also recommend Z2.John's excellent book.... a bible of sorts. As an H1 guy for nearly 50 years I always had hoped somebody would do the same with that bike. Lots of books on the triples, but nothing like his Z1 book. What a great resource in addition to this forum. Enjoy!
Chuck

I knew about that disease Jim mentioned in the quote BEFORE I got my first Z1 ... So my solution was BUY TWO right from the start!! :D

Yes, welcome to the forum. The people above have provided me with a heck of a lot of help since I came here a few years ago. More than I can ever repay. And yes, I now have the "fever".
